Therapeutic Stories
Therapeutic stories for hospitalized children and their families: stories about emotions and the human body, about soul and illness
These stories are meant to provide assistance to children and their families in navigating hospitalization, by bringing forth the emotions behind certain symptoms, introducing medical procedures using age-appropriate language, and strengthening the parent-child relationship through the experience of reading together.
The stories were made in 2020 by Inocenți psychologists from the Dr. Victor Gomoiu Children’s Clinical Hospital in Bucharest, within the “Child’s Life & Mental Health” program. So far, over 5,000 children and parents have received support through therapeutic storybooks in pediatric hospitals in Bucharest, Bistrița, Cluj-Napoca and Târgu-Mureș.
