Hand Held Screening Event in Bucharest

Last Thursday, at Grand Cinema & More in Baneasa Shopping City, Fundatia Inocenti – RCR hosted a screening of “Hand Held” the documentary by Academy Award nominated producer, Don Hahn, about the founder of Inocenti, Mike Carroll. Mike attended the event along with his wife, Joan Peterson, an Early Intervention specialist from the U.S.

Hand Held presents the story of the thousands of children whose lives and happiness were sacrificed by a vicious political regime, and how one man with a camera was inspired to start a charity organization 25 years ago. Today, the organization he founded is Fundatia Inocenti-RCR.
The event hosted distinguished guests, most of whom are dear friends and supporters of Fundatia Inocenti – RCR, and also new friends who have responded to our invitation to join us and find out more about our work and projects.

Inocenti Early Intervention Conference for Disabled Children

More than 140 professionals from France, Norway, Moldova Republic and Romania, specialized in areas like medical, therapeutic, education or social protection, from NGO’s or state authorities, participated at the Conference.

Subjects of high interest regarding the quality of services for children with disabilities were approached, and the discussions were grouped into 4 main areas of interest:
– Presentation of participant Organizations, their Services and Programs
– Evaluation for children with neurological and psycho-motor disabilities, aged 0 – 7
– Therapies for children with neurological and psycho-motor disabilities, aged 0 – 7
– Social and school integration for children with neurological and psycho-motor disabilities, aged 0 – 7

The Conference was a success and we are very happy and honored by the participation of important representatives of the local authorities and the Norway Embassy in Bucharest, as well as experts and professionals in services for disabled children: physical therapists, psychologists, occupational and speech-therapists.

Together we can bring positive changes and improve the life of disabled children. Thank you!

Mike Carroll wins the prestigious “International Understanding Through Photography” Award

Congratulations to Inocenti – RCR founder, Michael Carroll, on winning the prestigious “International Understanding Through Photography” award from the Photographic Society of America!

Michael joins previous award recipients Ansel Adams, Walt Disney and Alfred Eisenstaedt.
Thank you, Mike, for sharing the stories of Romania’s neediest children and families through your photography, and then dedicating your life to helping them through Inocenti – RCR
